Food Bank Information
If you are in need of food assistance, please read and complete the information below. We will contact you regarding your registration appointment and what documentation you will need to bring with you. New immigrants must be in Canada for at least 3 months, while those with refugee status are exempt from the 3 month waiting period. Once you’re registered, we will book your first appointment to shop for food.
We service our clients through Marche On Rock, our grocery store style food bank. As a client you will be able to make an appointment every week to come in and shop. Whatever we receive into the food bank each week will be available in the grocery store and designated as evenly as possible to each family. The items are distributed between different family sizes, we try to make a wide variety available, but we cannot accommodate to all dietary restrictions.
Marche On Rock is open for appointments Monday-Thursday, A weekly administration fee of $7.00 is collected at the door when arriving for your appointment. Payment may be made weekly or monthly but your account must be kept in good standing (no more than one month owing) or your account will be put on hold until payment is made. You will not be able to book another anppointment until your account is settled.
You will be able to be pay cash, credit, debit or E-transfer. E-transfer can be sent to payments@onrock.org.
If at any time you do not need your appointment, you are required to contact us by Sunday at the latest. If you do not let us know, you will still incur the $7.00 charge since your appointment time was held for you. If you do not contact us 3 times in 3 months (and do not pick up) you will be removed from our services for 1 year. You may put your account on Hold for a period of time for reasons of travel, or sickness.
You cannot be a customer of any other food bank. This includes the holiday period in December. We share client lists between food banks.
The Food Bank will be closed periodically throughout the year but you will be notified the week prior.
